I've scowered the internet for the most unnecessary (but interestingly cool) hiking gadgets to have and here is what I found!

If you haven't already heard of this product - I have one question for you! 

Where have you been? This was an entire meme on YouTube like 2 years ago!

This reusable portable pee device seems interesting and cool, but come on now.

If you had to buy every female that's exploring with you one of these: 

#1 the weight will add up

#2 the cost will add up.

Save your money and just take a squat and go!

• The Umbrella Hat

First off, can we just take a moment to look at the obvious Photoshop job in this photo? ...

Okay, now that we've finished that, let's discuss the product. 

The reviews on Amazon are pretty good! 3.8 out of 5 stars and 66 reviews - overall it appears to be a pretty good product, but, the likelihood of you using this is really low (unless you plan on hiking in the rain).

I say save yourself the embarrassment and stick to a baseball cap or bucket hat to block out the sun!

• Scrubba Wash bag, a portable laundry washer.

       Amazon Price: $49.95

Now, this is actually a really cool device. Not too much to say about this one.

I think it could be very practical if you're going on a long camping trip and brought a limited amount of clothing. (Still unnecessary though 😀)

• Spectacles 2 , the Snapchat Sunglasses.

I think we can all agree on this one.

Is it an unnecessary hiking or camping gadget? YES!!!

Although it is very cool and a nice way to document your trip, overall, I think making this hefty purchase is useless.

• Thermacell Heated Insoles, remote controlled shoe insoles.

Besides the price, this gadget is super cool! 

Especially for colder hiking and camping locations.

But, maybe you should stick to some nice insulated sock? 

If not, just don't loose the remote or burn your toes!

• Collapsible and expansible Vase

Are you looking to fancy up your camping dinner? Then this product is for you!

Just add some flowers into the useless (essentially) plastic bag and you will a nice center piece for your dinner.

In all seriousness though, it's a cute idea but totally a waste 👎 

Just take a look and enjoy the living breathing flowers around you!

• LuminAID Solar Inflatable Light

I think this is my favorite gadget! It's super simple, lightweight and has potential. 

Still, you could just carry a solar powered flashlight during your camping or hiking trip rather than a bag. 

• Tentsile 3-Person Hammock

First of all, this is 14 lbs!!! Way too heavy for a hike. 

Maybe it's a good idea if you're at a camping ground, but still, good luck trying to set this bad boy up anywhere!

• Sandwiches in a Can!

Would you ever eat a sandwich in a can? 

I think I would have to pass - especially with that starting price point. 

I'll stick with my homemade PB&J for my hiking and camping trips!

• Deluxe Chef's Oven

 
      Amazon Price: $209.17

The weight is 35 lbs., you need at least a 1 lb. can of propane gas, and  you need cooking utensils. 

This product is a no go for me!

Always think light when you going for a hike or a camping trip.
This is a very unnecessary gadget to bring! But hey, that's up to you to decide.
